The Einstein Telescope must become much more accurate than existing gravity wave observatories. This will require new and better technologies, some of which have yet to be developed. This will take place in a special R&D lab in Maastricht: the ETpathfinder. Here, scientists and companies will work together on vacuum systems, cooling, mirrors & mirror coatings, vibration dampers and measurement and control software. Although it is about technology for gravitational wave measurements, this lab will provide new knowledge that will be more widely applicable.
PohlCon Benelux Cable Support has delivered cable trays and associated fittings on behalf of Nikhef (National Institute for Subatomic Physics). A special cooperation, in which we have extensively thought along with the customer from the request phase to delivery and assembly. The setup was placed in a clean room, which meant strict requirements for assembly. Together with an external partner, we organized a training course so that the cable trays could be assembled by their own staff in the clean room. Applied are closed cable trays of our product brand PUK. The cable trays are subject to the highest quality standards and have been tested according to DIN EN 61537, including electrical conductivity.
